Tokyo,\u00a0 January 15, 2026 \u2013<\/strong> Terra Drone Corporation, a leading drone and Urban Air Mobility (UAM) technology company headquartered in Japan, is pleased to announce that its group company and a global leader in UAS Traffic Management (UTM) solutions, Unifly,has completed the validation of “Well Clear Requirements” for drone Detect-and-Avoid (DAA) systems. This work was conducted under research project “A68” of the Alliance for System Safety of UAS through Research Excellence (ASSURE) , a drone safety research consortium supported by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) (<\/span>Note 1<\/span><\/i>).<\/span><\/p>\n

In this project, Unifly provided its UTM system during drone simulations and flight testing. Through this initiative, Unifly demonstrated that UTM can effectively support drone Detect-and-Avoid (DAA) systems and contributed to building a robust technical foundation for improving DAA performance requirements in Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations and high-density environments. Based on the data validated through this project, it is expected that efforts by aviation authorities and relevant organizations toward future regulatory development and low-altitude airspace integration will be accelerated.<\/span><\/p>\n
