Abu Dhabi, March 2022 – Al Masaood Energy, in partnership with ADNOC Onshore and vendors Terra Drone and NDT Corrosion Control Services (NDTCCS), is pleased to announce the launch of a new drone center project in the Bab, Bu Hasa, and TPO concession area. The project, set to begin in 2023, aims to enhance safety and efficiency in the oil and gas industry through the use of cutting-edge drone technology.
The scope of work for this initiative includes the provision of services such as facility inspections (including flare inspections and overhead line inspections), in-field security patrols, and pipeline surveillance. In addition, Al Masaood Energy will provide consultancy to develop a comprehensive drone center program, as well as supply drones and training for their use.
The initiative will allow ADNOC Onshore to utilize the potential use of drones which will bring benefits such as:
- Improved efficiency & accuracy: By using drones for facility inspections and security patrols, ADNOC Onshore can reduce the time and resources required for these tasks, leading to greater efficiency and productivity. In addition, drones equipped with high-resolution cameras and sensors can provide more detailed and accurate inspections, helping ADNOC Onshore identify and address issues more quickly and effectively.
- Enhanced safety, data collection, and analysis: Drones can access hard-to-reach or hazardous areas without putting workers at risk, leading to a safer working environment. Besides, drones can provide real-time data and images that can be used to improve decision-making and risk assessment.
- Reduced costs: The use of drones can help ADNOC Onshore save on labor and equipment costs, leading to lower overall expenses.
