Terra Drone’s Group Company Terra Drone Indonesia, Obtains TKDN Certification for Its In-House Developed Agricultural Drone “G20”

October 16, 2025

Key Point: Aiming to Expand Participation Opportunities in Government Projects and Accelerate Maintenance Operations

Tokyo, October 16, 2025 – Terra Drone Corporation, a leading drone and Urban Air Mobility (UAM) technology company headquartered in Japan, is pleased to announce that its Indonesian subsidiary, Terra Drone Indonesia, has obtained TKDN certification for its in-house developed agricultural drone, the G20. TKDN is a certification system administered by the Indonesian government that evaluates the proportion of domestic components and labor used in a product, granting certification to those that meet specific local content standards. By acquiring this certification, Terra Drone Indonesia will not only gain greater opportunities to participate in government and public sector projects, but also improve the maintenance efficiency through easier procurement of locally sourced components. Building on this achievement, Terra Drone Indonesia will further expand its drone-based spraying services in the agricultural field, and continue contributing to the advancement of Indonesia’s domestic industries through sustainable business development.

About TKDN Certification

TKDN (Tingkat Komponen Dalam Negeri) is a certification system in Indonesia that evaluates the proportion of locally sourced materials, components, and labor used in a product. The products are certified based on the standards set by the Ministry of Industry of Indonesia, following evaluation and registration by designated inspection bodies. TKDN certification is often a requirement or a preferential criterion for participation in government and public sector projects, making certified products gain expanded opportunities to be involved in such initiatives.

The system aims to promote domestic industry development, strengthen local supply chains, and create employment opportunities in Indonesia. By increasing the proportion of locally sourced components in key sectors such as government and public projects, the system encourages greater involvement of local companies in manufacturing, maintenance, and service operations, enhancing the country’s long-term industrial competitiveness.

Background and Overview of the Certification

Terra Drone has been providing drone-based pesticide and fertilizer spraying services in Indonesia, one of the world’s leading producers of palm oil, accounting for roughly 60% of global output. These services support the cultivation and pest control of oil palm plantations, the primary source of palm oil. Using its proprietary high-precision agricultural drones, the company enables accurate and targeted spraying across specific areas.

The “G20”, which recently obtained TKDN certification, is a large-capacity agricultural drone equipped with a 20 kg / 20 L tank, capable of covering extensive farmland for pesticide and fertilizer spraying. It features multiple advanced flight modes, including automatic route generation, obstacle avoidance, and terrain-following flight, allowing stable operation even in terraced or uneven landscapes such as hills or slopes. It also features a user-friendly design focused on field practicality, including water and dust resistant construction and a plug-in system that allows quick replacement of the tank and battery.

To obtain the certification, Terra Drone began supplier selection and technical verification in March 2025. By incorporating Terra Drone Group’s quality standards and optimizing the local sourcing of multiple components, including small consumable parts such as hoses, the company improved the product’s domestic content. As a result, the G20 achieved a 31.26% local content ratio, exceeding the 30% requirement for drone TKDN certification, and successfully obtained TKDN certification following evaluation and registration by a designated inspection body.

By making it easier to procure parts domestically, the company can reduce maintenance time for activities such as component replacement and repair, thereby minimizing service downtime. In addition, the certification is expected to expand opportunities for participation in government and public sector projects.

Future Outlook

To further enhance its competitiveness in the Indonesian market, Terra Drone aims to increase the local content ratio of the G20 to 50% in the future. The company also plans to expand TKDN certification to additional agricultural drone models, broadening its certified product lineup. Through these efforts, Terra Drone Indonesia will continue to expand its drone-based pesticide spraying services and contribute to the growth of Indonesia’s domestic industries through sustained business development.
