Key Point:Participating in the Development of a National-Level Drone Traffic Management Infrastructure and Accelerating Expansion in the Asian Market
Tokyo, May 26 2026 – Terra Drone Corporation, a leading drone and Urban Air Mobility (UAM) technology company headquartered in Japan, is pleased to announce that its group company and a global leader in UAS Traffic Management (UTM) solutions, Unifly, has been selected as the technology partner for U2 (Operational Traffic Management System) under Malaysia’s national project, the “ClearPath UASTMS Program.”
This appointment focuses on the system domain responsible for actual flight operations within the national platform, which integrates U1 (Registration System) for drone registration and U2 (Operational Traffic Management System) for flight operations management. It forms part of the foundational infrastructure required to enable continuous and large-scale commercial drone operations.

Background
Industrial applications for drones continue to expand, conventional operational models based on individual approvals and permits are becoming increasingly inadequate for supporting simultaneous multi-drone operations and continuous commercial use. In Malaysia, efforts are underway to address these challenges through the development of a national-level framework for the centralized management of drone flights. This project represents a key initiative within that effort.
In particular, U2 (Operational Traffic Management System), which will be provided by Unifly, plays a critical role in ensuring both safety and operational efficiency by enabling real-time visibility and coordination of drone flight operations.
Project Overview
This project is intended to establish a comprehensive digital infrastructure for the centralized management of unmanned aircraft operations in Malaysia through U1 (Registration System) and U2 (Operational Traffic Management System).
In 2025, Datasonic Technologies Sdn. Bhd. (“Datasonic”), a subsidiary of NexG Berhad, formerly known as Datasonic Group Berhad, was awarded the project for the localization, customization, development, and integration of the UAS Traffic Management System for the U1 and U2 ClearPath Project.
As the project progresses, Unifly has joined as the technology partner providing U2 (Operational Traffic Management System). This appointment reflects recognition of Unifly’s proven track record in delivering UTM systems to aviation authorities around the world. By leveraging Unifly’s globally proven technology, the project will further strengthen the implementation of the U2 component and enhance the operational foundation needed for successful execution.
Scope of Work
Under this project, Datasonic will develop U1 (Registration System) for the registration of drones and operators, while Unifly will provide U2 (Operational Traffic Management System), which is responsible for the real-time management, monitoring, and coordination of drone flight operations.
Unifly’s UTM platform will provide both web and mobile applications for drone operators and aviation authorities, creating an integrated environment for flight planning, authorization, and operational management.
The platform includes key functionalities such as geo-awareness for airspace information, flight application and approval functions, network identification (Remote ID) for real-time visibility of drones in flight, and traffic information services for sharing airspace conditions.
In addition, its open API enables integration with external systems and drone platforms, contributing to more advanced operations and greater scalability in the unmanned aviation sector.
Future Outlook
This project is expected to serve as a foundational platform for the advancement of drone operations in Malaysia, while also supporting the continued growth of the country’s drone market.
To date, Unifly has provided UTM systems to aviation authorities in countries including Canada, Belgium, Spain, and Bulgaria, helping to drive the digitalization of drone operations and improve operational efficiency in each market.
This project forms part of Unifly’s broader effort to strengthen its presence in the Asian market on the back of these achievements, and is expected to contribute to the continued expansion of its global business.
